Under 16’s Kick off their Cup campaign
Triangle U16’s with the East Antrim League title under their belts began their cup run with a win. Larne Colts were the opposition on Saturday and the Coleraine side got off to a great start. Within fifteen minutes it was one up to Triangle when Richard Walker shot, the ball was palmed away by the Larne keeper but on hand was Craig McKillop who slotted the ball in. Within five minutes Larne equalised and the game then moved into a stalemate period. The second half began with a revitalised Larne side however Connor McCorrison headed home on the six yard line making Triangle two up. It was soon 2-2 even with the protests of Triangle keeper Paul Wells the referee allowed play to continue and Larne scored. They were then awarded a dubious goal but failed to capitalise missing the spot kick. Tactics then made their mark when Triangle coach Steven McConaghie brought defender Brandon Eastwood up front for the attack. This clever move was rewarded when McCorrison switched play to the left hand side when Vinnie Henneghan shot for goal. Brandon Eastwood delivered when he got on the end of the ball and scored. The final Triangle came from a bounced ball from the Larne keeper which Glenn Young placed in the net. Triangle 4 Larne Colts 2.
Triangle v Tobermore (Friendly)
Saturday 22nd March saw Triangle FC play Tobermore in a friendly at Coleraine University. The final score was 7-1. Richard Walker clinched a hat-trick while Vinnie a brace.
