Under 14’s beat Glentoran in the NIBFA Cup.

Triangle U14’s travelled to the Billy Neill centre on Saturday to face Glentoran Youth in the fourth round of
the NIBFA Cup. From the off the Coleraine boys were in total dominance and indeed were unlucky not to
be one up within the first two minutes when Archie Quinn shot narrowly wide. The Glens were under
intense pressure for the majority of the game and Triangle went into the lead after some great build up
play from midfield and striker Chris McNeill tucked the ball away for the opener. After twelve minutes
Archie Quinn was brought down in the box but unfortunately hit the resulting penalty to close to the diving
keeper who made a good save. This seemed to spur Triangle on and left back Harry Shaw made a run the
entire length of the pitch powerfully shrugging off at least four Glens players before reaching the bye line
and driving a cross into the box where Archie steered his header inches over the bar. Triangle made it 2-0
when a break from Ryan Campbell down the left was crossed into the goalmouth for Archie Quinn to fire
home.

The second half was a bit scrappier as the Glens tried to muscle their way back into the game and there
were a few less than savoury tackles being made but the Belfast referee kept the game well under control.
Triangle wrapped the game up with two minutes remaining when Chris McNeill found himself one on one
with the keeper and calmly slotted home to make the final score Triangle 3 Glentoran 0. Triangle are now
through to the quarter finals and are hoping they can go one step further than their semi final spot last
season.
