Triangle F.C. Season Overview 2006/ 2007

Under 17’s Squad

Finalist in the Coleraine & District Cup and finishing runner’s up in the League. The boys coached by Sandra Tannahill, Tony Lawlor and Chris Addison. They also competed in the N.I.B.F.A. Cup and reached round three but were beaten away by Lisburn Youth. Sadly we now lose some of our most talented and experienced players who move on to other clubs. We wish them good luck. Also this season we lost one of our most experienced coaches, Chris Addison who left the mainland and headed to England due to work commitments.

Under 15’s Squad

The 1992’s coached by Noel Milligan and Steven McConaghie finished the season Coleraine and District Youth League and Cup Champions. They reached the third round of the N.I.B.F.A. Cup but were beaten away against Newhill. The team look forward to being the elder statesmen of our club this incoming season.  The squad divided by three took part in the Andrew Eakin Memorial Tournament in June, they finished Cup and Plate winners.

Under 14’s Squad

The squad competed under the direction of lone coach Gerry McAleese assisted by parents  this season in the East Antrim Invitational Youth League finishing in fourth place. Sadly the boys got knocked out in the first round of the EAIYL and N.I.B.F.A. Cups. On the up side the team defeated league winners Barn Utd to win the EAIYL Shield in a 3-1 final.

Under 13’s Squad

Coached by messers Ferguson, McCann and McDowell (not a solicitors firm) the 1994’s had a successful season in the EAIYL winning the treble for the second year in a row. They also reached the semi-finals in the N.I.B.F.A. Tesco Cup, a great competition for the team. On the way they beat Linfield but fell at the post against Celtic Boys who went on to win the competition. Scotland proved a success when they won the Easter Festival of Football trophy at Ayr which they paraded at Coleraine showgrounds to the Bannsider  fans. The Andrew Eakin Memorial Tournament  saw the squad lift the Cup, Plate and Rosebowl.

Under 12’s Squad

The boys competed in the EAIYL under the stewardship of Davy Bradley, Liam Surgenor, Philip Wilson and new boy Jason Taylor. Sadly the team were knocked out in the first round of the N.I.B.F.A. Cup but reached the quarter finals of the EAIYL Cup. They finished fourth in the League. The team reached the semi-finals of the Easter Festival of Football in Ayr putting on an excellent display of football. The Andrew Eakin Memorial Tournament  saw the team reach the Cup final losing out to Bertie Peacocks.

Under 11’s Squad

New squad on the block the U 11’s coached by Patrick Condron and Trevor Wisener played numerous friendlies and took part in the N.I.B.F.A. Cup reaching the third round where they were beaten by St Mary’s in Belfast.

Pappy’s Friendship League Ballymoney

Triangle entered two teams in the competition, the Minis and the Youths. The Minis finished mid table in the league whilst the Youths finished top and also won the Rainey & Gregg Shield. The first silverware for the club in the 2006/2007 season.  A great introduction for parents/guardians to watch their kids in pleasant surroundings. A special mention to organiser, John Fall, a big thank you from Triangle FC.

Tobermore 5-a-side

The U12’s won the tournament after a thrilling penalty shootout against Glebeside. Not to be outdone the U13’s also won their age group and came second and joint third having entered three teams. On the evening Harry Shaw was named man of the tournament.
