Triangle v Carrick

Triangle U13s travelled to Rathcool on Saturday to play second placed Carrick Rangers
in the East Antrim Youth League. The Coleraine team were missing players through injuries and other commitments and had to travel with 11 players.
However they gave their all and took the lead after 14 minutes, a long range dipping shot from Dean Vauls beat the Carrick keeper.
The midfield of Jordan Taylor, Ryan Milligan, Jack Magee, Todd Moore Wilson and Glen McLaughlin then had some work to put in which they performed magnificently.
The defence of Ryan Adams, Matthew Kirkpatrick, Ryan Malcolmson, Ryan Hunter and Joel Stanbridge were superb and Triangle could have went two up when Dean Vauls shot just over the bar.
Half Time Triangle 1-0 Carrick Rangers.
Triangle got off to a dream start just after the break when Dean Vauls put a corner right on to Jordan's Taylor head who scored well. Carrick then came at Triangle and with no subs to bring on to rest tired legs, the Coleraine team started to leak at the back.
Carrick eventually coming away 3-2 winners. The display from the Coleraine team however was one of guts and determination and they were unlucky on the day.

Triangle v Ballysillan

TRIANGLE U13s HIT 10

Triangle U13's travelled to Carrickfergus to take on Ballysillan on Saturday coming away with 3 points and a bagful of
goals. The Coleraine team went two up after only ten minutes but Ballysillan fought back to 2-2.
Triangle went ahead again on 24 minutes but Ballysillan got their second penalty award of the game and equalised.

Triangle v Barn

Strong performance from triangle u13s at top of East Antrim Youth League

Triangle U13s travelled to Glengormley on Saturday to play league leaders Barn Utd from Carrickfergus. The team were looking forward to getting on the pitch after a few weeks of cancellations. With a few injuries the team wasn't quite at full strength but they put on their best performance of the season. Triangle had all the play in the first 15 minutes with a few chances not being converted. Barn then scored a breakaway goal on 16 minutes but Triangle fought back well and were unlucky to go two behind. Goalkeeper Luke Forgrave not at fault, a wet pitch causing the problem. Just before half time Dean Vauls won a free kick 25 yards out and Keith Gallagher thundered his shot against the bar.

 

 

Half Time Triangle 0-2 Barn Utd

 At the start of the second half Glen McLaughlin replaced Ryan Adams who had a good first half. The second half was a complete turn around and was all Triangle. Fve minutes in Dean Browne went on a strong run down the left and crossed for Matthew Kirkpatrick to go round the keeper and score well. The Triangle defence of Dean Vauls, Jordan Taylor, Keith Gallagher and Todd Moore Wilson were giving nothing away and won everything that was thrown at them. The midfield of Jack Magee, Joel Bradley, Glen McLaughlin and Dean Browne were moving the ball around well with some great passing football trying to bring the two strikers Ryan Hunter and Matthew Kirkpatrick into the game. The equaliser came 15 minutes in. Jack Magee won a free on the right, it was put in perfectly by Todd Moore Wilson into the danger area, the ball dropped loose and Joel Bradley scored from close range. After that Triangle pressed hard for a winner and were the only team that looked like getting it. It wasn't to be however and the game finished 2-2. Triangle played well in the first half but in the second they showed great character and took their football to another level, proving they can beat anyone in the league. No man of the match as the whole team were outstanding.

Triangle v Comber Rec

Triangle U13s travelled to the Valley Leisure Centre on Saturday to take on a strong Comber Rec side. The Coleraine team found themselves behind in the first minute but fought back straight away. Good battling in midfield from Joel Bradley, who found Dean Browne on the left. Dean put in a great cross that Todd Moore Wilson lobbed over the keeper. The remainder of the first half was a real battle with both teams competing strongly. The Triangle midfield of Jordan Taylor, Joel Bradley, Jack Magee and Dean Vauls were very busy. Just before half time though Comber scored from a corner. Half Time, Comber Rec 2- Triangle 1.

Triangle came out in the second half determined to turn things around. Good battling from Keith Gallagher got the ball to Todd Moore Wilson who crossed the ball into the Comber box, the keeper spilled it and Jack Magee finished well 3 minutes into the half.
The rest of the second half was similar to the first, not much between the teams, however towards the end Triangle seemed to be the fitter team and were creating all the chances.
With one minute to go the ball broke to Todd Moore Wilson who scored and secured the three points. Great performance from the whole team to come back twice to win the game showing strong character. Next week top of the table clash with Carrick Rangers.

Triangle v Connor Utd

HAT TRICK OF HAT TRICKS FOR TRIANGLE U13s
Triangle U13s put on a great display of attacking football against Connor Utd from Ballymena on Saturday in the East Antrim Youth League. The result was never in doubt with hat tricks from Jack Magee, Todd Moore Wilson and Dean Browne. Triangle’s other two goals coming from Keith Gallagher and Joel Bradley. The defence of Luke Forgrave, Glen McLaughlin, Keith Gallagher, Ryan Malcolmson and Ryan Hunter were strong throughout most of the match, with lapses in concentration responsible for three conceded goals. The midfield of Jack Magee, Jordan Taylor, Joel Bradley and Dean Vauls played great passing football throughout the match. The only problem for the coaches was who to give the match ball to!!!
The Triangle team has now won 9 out of 10 of their matches this season Final Score Triangle 11-3 Connor United

Triangle v Whitehead

Under 13’s Seven wins out of seven for Triangle U13s


Triangle U13s travelled to Whitehead on Saturday looking to achieve seven straight wins in the East Antrim Youth League. Most of the first half was a scrappy affair not helped by the condition of the pitch. Triangle though got the breakthrough on 17 minutes good battling from Todd Moore Wilson gave Matthew Kirkpatrick an opportunity which he finished well first time.

Half Time Whitehead 0-1 Triangle. The second half was completely Triangle, the midfield of Joel Bradley, Jordan Taylor, Dean Vauls and Ryan Adams started to control the game. The first of the second half came after just 3 minutes. A good strong run down the left from Dean Vauls resulted in a strong shot that beat the keeper. Three minutes later Dean scored an identical goal to make it 3-0. Minutes later it was four. Good delivery from Dean Vauls and Matthew Kirkpatrick finished with a strong header. The Triangle defence of Matthew Steele, Keith Gallagher, Ryan Malcolmson and Dean Browne dealt well with the little pressure that was put on them.


Glen Mc Laughlin replaced Dean Browne at left back and finished the game well.
With 15 minutes to go Joel Bradley picked up the ball in midfield and went on a dribbling run, slotting ball pass keeper with left foot. Five minutes later it was six with Joel Bradley scoring a similar goal to his first. With the Whitehead team tiring, Triangle’s fitness showed in the last ten minutes with complete control of possession. Joel Bradley got his hat trick at the end with another dribbling run.

Under 13’s cruise to a win

Larne Colts were the opposition in the East Antrim League for the Coleraine boys. It ended a comfortable 5-1 win on the day with goals from Matthew Kirkpatrick (2),Dean Vauls, Jack Magee plus one own goal.

Triangle v Antrim Rovers

Under 13’s ANOTHER GOOD WIN
Triangle U13's travelled to the Antrim Forum on Saturday to play Antrim Rovers. The team got off to a great start after just 3 minutes. A good weaving run from Joel Bradley resulting in him scoring with his left foot. Eight minutes later it was 2-0, a careless kick from the Antrim keeper fell at Matthew Kirkpatrick's feet, he composed himself and scored well. A great move in the 15th minute made it three. Good battling from Keith Gallagher kept Triangle in possession, he played the ball to Ryan Hunter who provided an excellent cross for Joel Stanbridge to finish well. The Triangle defence of Luke Forgrave, Ryan Hunter, Dean Browne, Keith Gallagher and Ryan Malcolmson didn't have too much trouble keeping Antrim at bay up till now. On 28 minutes it was 4-0. Jack Magee with a well struck shot from outside the box. Triangle really had a grip on the game and Dean Vauls was unlucky when his shot struck the bar on 30 minutes. Dean got his goal 2 minutes later though. The ball was won by Joel Bradley in midfield who played it down the line to Jack Magee, Jack put a perfect cross into Dean Vauls who scored first time. Half Time Antrim Rovers 0-5 Triangle. Triangle came out and started the second half well. Glen McLaughlin replaced Matthew Kirkpatrick up front and battled well. The midfield were strong. Jordan Taylor won the ball back and played Joel Stanbridge on the left, Joel flew down the wing and put in a cross/shot? Only he knows, the ball ended up in the back of the net for his second of the game. However at 6-nil the Coleraine team started to get too casual and in a 10 minute spell Antrim had pulled two goals back. The result was never in doubt though and right at the end an excellent one-two with Dean Browne and Joel Stanbridge resulted in the ball dropping to Joel Bradley who struck it well first time. Final Score Antrim Rovers 2-7 Triangle. Triangle v Larne Youth

Triangle U13s travelled to Glengormley to play an unbeaten Larne Youth team. Triangle were the better team in the first 10 minutes but failed to convert their chances then on 11 minutes Larne came away on a counter attack and scored. Twenty minutes in and Triangle had to make a change when Dean Vauls was injured being replaced by Matthew Steele. Larne battled to hold onto their lead but on 25 minutes a ball over the top from Keith Gallagher gave Joel Stanbridge a one on one with the keeper and he slotted it home well. Triangle’s hard work was rewarded again on 29 minutes. Good battling in midfield from Joel Bradley, who slotted a pass through to Dean Browne, Dean composed himself and made it 2-1. But as so often happens in football Larne centered and scored within a minute to level the match. The Coleraine team had to move up a gear and they showed great character to take the lead just before half time. Good work from Jordan Taylor and Joel Bradley in midfield, Joel put a looping shot in at the keeper who dropped the ball and it fell to Dean Browne to get his second of the match. Triangle got off to a great start in the second half, scoring within 30 seconds. A good ball from Dean Browne found Joel Stanbridge down the left, Joel delivered first time and Todd Moore Wilson arrived in the box just in time to slot home first time. At 4-2 Triangle needed to go on and win game but Larne pulled back two goals, one a soft penalty that never looked like a hand ball. Fifteen minutes left score 4-4. Then Triangle got rewarded a penalty after good work from Matthew Kirkpatrick who was brought down in the box. Dean Browne converted to score his hat trick of the day. However like the first half Larne scored straight away, with 10 minutes left it was anybody's game at 5-5.
Triangle had the character to go and win the game though. A strong run from Joel Stanbridge down the left and scoring from a tight angle won the match Final Score Triangle 6-5 Larne. Triangle v Carnmoney

Under 13’s determined Triangle Grind Out Result

Triangle U13 travelled to Newtownabbey to play Carnmoney with a depleted squad due to illness and injuries. Carnmoney put up a good fight in the early stages, although Triangle always had the edge. The breakthrough came after 20 mins when Joel Stanbridge went down the left and whipped in an excellent cross for Ryan Adams to meet with a strong header, the ball flying in off the cross-bar. Carnmoney came back at Triangle but the Triangle midfield of Joel Stanbridge, Jack Magee, Jordan Taylor and Joel Bradley controlled the game well.

The second half was much the same, the Triangle defence of Matthew Steele, Matthew Kirkpatrick, Keith Gallagher, Dean Browne and goal keeper Ryan Malcolmson strong enough for anything that came at them. Todd Moore-Wilson was brought down just outside the box 10 minutes into the half, Joel Stanbridge's free kick hitting the post.
With 20 mins to go Jordan Taylor had to leave the field due to a facial injury and Triangle had to finish the match with 10 men.
The whole team battled hard as is normally the case with a 10-man team and they got the result they deserved.

Triangle v Ballysillan

ANOTHER STRONG PERFORMANCE FROM TRIANGLE U13s

 



Triangle U13s had another good win this week in the East Antrim Youth League beating Ballysillan 5-2.
The first goal came after 6 mins a good ball from left back Glen McLaughlin found Todd Moore Wilson whose cross fell to Jack Magee who finished well. Six minutes later Magee got his second from outside the box. 25 mins in Todd Moore Wilson again put the Ballysillan defence under pressure and the ball fell to Ryan Adams who slotted the ball into the bottom left corner.

Ballysillan got into the game after the break with a goal 2 minutes in but Triangle came strong again.
The mid field of Jack Magee, Joel Bradley, Jordan Taylor and Dean Browne started to control the game and the defence of Matthew Steele, Matthew Kirkpatrick, Keith Gallagher ,Glen McLaughlin and goalkeeper Ryan Malcolmson were giving nothing away.
Another good run from Ryan Adams into the Ballysillan box resulted in a penalty which Jordan Taylor put away well.
The final goal came after a weaving run from Joel Bradley who found Todd Moore Wilson , Todd scored well chipping the keeper.

Upp Ardoyne v Triangle

Triangle U13's hit Upper Ardoyne for a bagful of goals on Saturday at Newtownabbey. The result was 9-2 to Triangle with hat-tricks from Todd Moore-Wilson and Jordan Taylor, the other three goals coming from Dean Vauls, Joel Bradley and Ryan Adams. The defence of Matthew Steele, Ryan Malcolmson, Dean Vauls and Dean Brown had very little to do throughout the match. This result takes Triangle to the top of the East Antrim Youth League.

 Triangle get off to a great league start

 A good performance from Triangle U13's got them three points in their opening game in the East Antrim Youth League, against Templepatrick. The first goal came just after 6 mins. Good work from Glen McLaughlin who played a ball into Ryan Hunter. Ryan walked through the Templepatrick defence and the ball broke to Jack Magee who finished well from outside the box. Triangle were obviously the stronger team and they scored again on 20 mins. Good closing down off the goalkeeper by Todd Moore Wilson put the keeper under pressure the ball came out to Jordan Taylor and he struck a strong shot into the back off the net. Two goals quickly followed, again from mistakes in the Templepatrick defence.
The first scored by Jack Magee, then Joel Bradley got on the score sheet.

Three minutes into the second half a well delivered corner by Keith Gallagher was headed into the net by Jack Magee to claim his hat trick. Triangle became a little casual after this and let Templepatrick get one back but they hit back again
with Keith Gallagher getting on the end of a Jack Magee shot that hit the bar.

Friendlies

Saturday 25th August saw the 95 team take on Bloomfield at Coleraine University. In what was a hard fought physical game it ended 1-1 with Jack Magee clinching the Triangle goal.
